gbod
I would like to know what the proper logging etiquette is on caches that you do not find, then go back at a later date and find. Do you?... A: Log a no-find on day 1, then post a new log as a find on day 2? or... B: Log a no-find on day 1, then go back and edit the original no-find log as a find on day 2? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Renegade Knight
Log both. It gives others an idea of the difficulty level of the cache. If you edit the original log it makes it harder to see that the cache (for me it's always the 2's that skunk) rating of 1/1 is really a 4/3. In your area Idahoflyer is great at sneaky difficulty 2 caches that skunk a lot of cachers. Quote Link to comment
Eagles61
I would log both. The only time I do not log a DNF is if I feel I did not put forth enough effort (ran out of time during lunch, getting too late, etc.)in finding the cache and even then I will at least post a note. Quote Link to comment
briansnat
A: Log both. They're part of the history of the cache. "Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day" - Dave Barry Quote Link to comment
Moonbase
You Bet logg emm both. if all ya got on your stats is finds. People will think You are faking it. Failer is part of the game. the fact that you tried twice is no dishonor. It is the game! I have tried more than four and five times at a offset cache before I get it. But that gives the other hunters an idea of the time it will take to achive the goal. I hope this helps? Quote Link to comment
gbod
Thanks for the feedback. I went searching for a cache during lunch time and could not find it. I did not have a lot of time though, and people were giving me funny looks, so I think I will give it a little more effort before I actually log a DNF. (Unless I find it of course!)
