You can now use a GPS on flights with AerLingus I discovered on my recent travels to NYC....funny I had to have my GPS and external aerial in my carry on bag!

I've used my gpsr on every flight I've been on since I got it, complete with external aerial suction mounted to window.

 

Never been told I couldn't use it, regardless of airline.

Did you never get asked "Excuse me, what's that stuck to the window"? That's what I was always afraid of, so I never bothered, until I saw the new rules.

Went to Malaga on Thomson flight 2 weeks ago, used GPS all the way..... no questions asked.

They do get very upset when you open the window to put the aerial on the roof though...especially at 30,000 feet!

I used mine on a BA internal flight last year and the only reaction I got from the cabin staff was: "where are we?"!

Rumour has it that Swineair will charge you a fiver for bringing it on board and £1 per minute to use it.

Yeah, once. I told the (very attractive) young lady what it was, she asked me where we were and I showed her. She went away happy.
