Farmall_cub
I am new to geocaching and wanting to buy a dash mount for my truck. Any suggestions would be helpful. Quote Link to comment
Sputnik 57
What GPS receiver are you using? Most people around here rave about RAM mounts. Quote Link to comment
JohnnyVegas
I am not sure of what your are looking for, a new a GPS or a Bracket for one that you already have, If you are looking one of the larger styles of GPSr that are meant for use on a dash and to be used for Geocaching, then I think your only choice will be one of the Garmin Street pilots, the Magellan version (Roadmate) does not allow for the entry of waypoints which means you can not enter cache Lat Lons. Regardless, these large units are not the best choice for something to carry around with you. If you are looking for a bracket for a GPS you already have you should be able to get one from the manufacture of your GPS Quote Link to comment
DBC FOR LIFE
You definitely want to go with a RAM mount for your specific unit with the 1"ball and 4" suction. It attaches to your windshield and is very sturdy. I'm not sure which specific unit you have but here is an example for the Garmin 60c (they make cradles for most all units however...) RAM-B-148-GA12U enjoy! Milan Quote Link to comment
pamgod
I bought velcro it works great! I can easily swap from truck to car. I had bought a vent mount but it kept falling off. An added bonus when I have the gps around my neck by using a lanyard i also hook it to velcro already on my jacket that way it doesn't bounce around as I am looking under rocks and things for cache. happy hunting.
