+jeff-trex Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 Ok now this is getting out of hand, I was looking throught the Canadian tire flyer tonight and I came across a VBFL for $59.99 made by Sunforce (with a Philips Halogen Bulb). Then I read the description in the flyer and it said 10 millon candlepower!!!! Yup that's right 10,000,000 CP. It would be like hunting caches with the sun!!!!! I thought mine was bright at 2,000,000 CP. Then again mine will only last for about 30 mins, maybe this one will only last 5 mins!!!! Quote
gm100guy Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 Hey if its that bright maybe you can plug it into your 12 volt plug in the car and light the cache 5 km away. Then you won't drain the batteries in the light. Quote
+Hard Oiler Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 That sounds like a DGBFL . I thought the 3 million candlepower Vector was the biggest around. Also available in a camo version. We could have really lit up That Fort on Friday night : Quote
+Swifteroo Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Try luggin' this bad boy around. is that an AMMO BOX? that would be a great night cache! VVBFL Quote
+Couparangus Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 ...and here I was thinking my 3 LED mini-maglite was quite bright! Quote
+jeff-trex Posted December 14, 2004 Author Posted December 14, 2004 (edited) VBFL I found a picture of this bad boy at Canadian Tire. But I like the one that swifteroo found, 32 lbs wow!!! Edited December 14, 2004 by jeff-trex Quote
+Hard Oiler Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 And to think our local lighthouse on Lake Huron (the Fort Gratiot Light), like most lighthouses on the Great Lakes, uses a 1000 watt DCB-224 aerobeacon rated at 2,500,000 candlepower which can be seen from about 25 nautical miles away. Makes you wonder what 10,000,000 candlepower really means. Visible from 100 nautical miles Quote
+PDOP's Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 It's only 1 million candle power but it is on sale for only $8.99 at CT this week. Product# 37-9449-4 Quote
+Camo-crazed Posted December 23, 2004 Posted December 23, 2004 yup, I have one like that. takes about 8 hours to charge & lasts 15 minutes at least it's bright while it lasts Quote
