+Harleyhikers
I'm very new to this geocaching mallarky and enjoying it immensely. I would like to go further afield in a certain area, e.g. a town. But I can't sus out how to get caches in a given area, only from a post code. Can anybody help. Thanks Marty Quote Link to comment
Leoness
You may find this map useful. Be aware, though, that it may take some time to load! And welcome to the sport/hobby/addiction! Edited December 5, 2004 by Leoness Quote Link to comment

+yorkstan
There is also this. Just type in the post code and you will get the nearest caches. Quote Link to comment
+MarcB
If you register with the geocacheuk flash map site you can get it to show your finds/hides MarcB Quote Link to comment
+MoonHerb
If you click 'Hide and Seek a Cache' on the front of the Geocahing.com main page, you can put in Latitude and Longitude to perform a search. If you go to either www.streetmap.co.uk or www.multimap.co.uk, you can get lat/long by clicking a location on the map. Combine these two and hey-presto ! Caches close to whichever location you choose (town or country). Quote Link to comment
+Kitty Hawk
This is the same site as Leoness pointed out. Using the advanced search hereyou can specify a town, or a postcode and a radius and it will bring up a useful map with dots for each cache. The speed of download is mile squicker this way, if you use a radius of say 15miles than using the map of the whole country. You can also see caches near each other for bagging more than one in a go and can add trigpoints if that grabs you as fun. Over time you will probably combine all of these methods of researching potential areas and if you become a premium member of Geocaching.com you can download the waypoints and show them on Autoroute or similar programs. I think you can do this from geocacheuk as well, but I'm not sure. Good Luck Quote Link to comment

But the best visualisation has already been given... GCUK. good luck. Quote Link to comment
