+dhenninger
National Geographic News (Dec 1, 2004) Geocaching article Dave Quote Link to comment
+AuntieWeasel
It's a good article, but...no mentioning of GC.com? Just Navicache and Buxley? That's a pretty wide miss for National Geographic. Is there a backstory? Quote Link to comment
+BadAndy
They did include a link to gc.com. The mention of buxleys and navicache are most likely due to the fact that they interviewed founders of both websites. Great article. No mention of buried treasure. Quote Link to comment
+southdeltan
I just ran across this article myself. I'm glad I searched the forums before posting it! There is a link to gc.com in the "Related Sites & Stories" on the side but no mention of gc.com in the actual story. It does seem strange it's not mentioned. I'm also some readers will be a bit confused when the GC.com search brings up 20 or 30 times as many caches as the other listing site. sd Quote Link to comment
+tirediron
Good, positive press! Quote Link to comment
+Cache Rabbits
Good positive article. If this draws people into geocaching, they'll have no problem finding gc.com. Quote Link to comment
PC Medic
Good positive article. If this draws people into geocaching, they'll have no problem finding gc.com. I agree. Good article that puts a very positive light on the sport and shows we aren't a bunch of crazy folks running around digging up the country side (well OK.... some of us may be a little crazy! ). Where ever they decide to call home, hopefully it will introduce others to a great sport that the whole family can enjoy. Quote Link to comment
rescue557
That's a really good article! I just wish it were longer or had some pretty pictures to go with it. All in all, good press and hopefully more caches to be found soon once people start getting into this activity! Quote Link to comment
