+TeamMINI
Using Mappoint North American streets 2004 I am having great difficulty even after using the programs help function. when I do (rarely) manage it to recognize an input lat-long it appears to be WAY off. I would love to use this to navigate on the laptop to the general area of a cache or even plan a route for a day of caching. Thoughts anyone? Quote Link to comment
+Olar
If you are creating a pushpin to represent the cache by using the 'find' by latitude & longitude option then keep in mind that the input must be in decimal degrees as opposed to geocaching.com's decimal minutes. An example would be: gc.com format N44° 02.455, W079° 04.553 converted equals, MapPoint 44.040917°, -79.075883° Hope that helps, Olar Edited November 29, 2004 by Olar Quote Link to comment
+Bozz
You have to convert it to the right format.... I had the same problem til someone told me to use the converting program.... It is called GeoCalc. Not sure where I got it, but if you do a search, your likely to find it. Bozz Quote Link to comment
+BruceS
A couple years ago there was a forum posting for a free MapPoint add-in that added a menu item so you can enter coordinates in the dd mm.mmm format rather than converting them. I was not able to find the forum posting. The add-in's name is cachemap.dll and it works great... I use it every day. BruceS Quote Link to comment
