+Thot Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 I’ve written a program that points out the finds/entries near you for a locationless cache. It also locates all the duplicate finds for the cache. No one’s used it except me. I need a couple of people to try it out and see if it works on other machines. If you're interested in trying the program email me and I’ll send you a link to the download page. Is there a discussion group anywhere that focuses on locationless caches?
+Mr Hedgehog Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 We're planning on going after a couple of locationless caches in the next week or so, and would be more than glad to try it out for you on another machine. Cheers Richard and Family

I like locationless caches but usually don't have time to search all the posts to see if it has already been logged. Thanks LSUFan
+programmer64 Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 one of my goals in caching is to find as many of the locationless as possible before they fade away. Please email me I'd love to try it.
+Robespierre Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 I seem to recall someone named Beta Test.
+Thot Posted November 21, 2004 Author Posted November 21, 2004 I seem to recall someone named Beta Test. Forgive me. I didn't get your point.
+The Leprechauns Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 It didn't have a point. It was a locationless post.
+BeachBuddies Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 Although not a dicsussion group, I maintain a Categorized List of Locationless Caches. At the bottom you'll also find some links to software that does some similar things with plotting the locationless logs and such.
+hedberg Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 one of my goals in caching is to find as many of the locationless as possible before they fade away. Please email me I'd love to try it. Same here, and it is a rough task in northern part of Europe to find everything but we have found more than 100 LCs anyway.. But we are looking for yet another 20 or 30...
+Thot Posted November 22, 2004 Author Posted November 22, 2004 A few people requested the program in this thread and others emailed me and some did both. Given that there are both pseudonyms and real names and a matching process to see if I sent to all the people who posted here, I could have missed somebody. So, if you wanted to try the program but didn’t get the link please email me.
+Apples 2 Apples Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Beachbuddies, thank you for uploading the URL for the list you maintain. You have saved us a lot of time in creating one ourselves. Nice layout.
+Hemlock Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 I’ve written a program that points out the finds/entries near you for a locationless cache. How is that different from this page? Enter your coords in one box and the GC# in the other. And I don't need to beg anyone for the url to a download page

Which by the way is great, how easy it is to check locationless finds out!
Keystone Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Thot has since made the software available for download. It is currently being discussed in this thread over in the GPS Units and Software Forum, so I am closing this predecessor thread.
+Thot Posted November 22, 2004 Author Posted November 22, 2004 Just what I was going to say. I think you will find this utility more versatile and convenient than the links referenced in this thread.
