BeachBuddies
Interesting... Streets and Trips is now available pre-packaged with a GPS. Microsoft Streets and Trips The 2005 version is now out. I ordered it on Amazon for $14 (after a $10 rebate from MS, and another $10 rebate from Amazon); pretty good deal. +JohnnyVegas
The GPS in the version that includes a GPS is not a stand alone GPS. Does Amazon stock the version that includes the GPS? Edited November 17, 2004 by JohnnyVegas Quote Link to comment
nittany dave
Thanks for the links! I just ordered this. We used a similar GPS device with S&T on a laptop during a recent geocaching trip. With a dedicated navigator onboard and the small GPS placed on top of the car through the sunroof, it made getting around an unfamiliar area a lot easier. Plus, you don't have to dedicate a regular GPS receiver to the task. Quote Link to comment
Great Scott!
The $14 dollar version does not come with a gps locator. You'll need to order this one: Microsoft Streets and Trips 2005 GPS Locator Quote Link to comment
ziatriguy
I have MS Streets and Trips(not 2005 but a version I bought last year). My Garmen E-trex works just fine with it. All I had to do was set the program settings to match the GPS output. Quote Link to comment
The Jester
If you don't want to wait for shipping, Costco has it (the non-GPS version), with rebate, for just over 14 dollars. Quote Link to comment
Cleenjeep & Danger Girl
Any chance of s&t 2005 showing waypoints from the GPS? Quote Link to comment
JohnnyVegas
You can load way points into Streets and Trips with GSAK, it is not very hard, once they are loaded into GSAK you can create an export file then you can open that file while running streets and trips, then you can load a map with the waypoints in a PPC, I don't even carry paper maps anymore. CoyoteRed
Does the new version do on the fly turn-by-turn autorouting? I've been thinking about the Garmin GPS18 USB for the laptop. It includes the autorouting maps like what you use on their autorouting handhelds or the iQue 3600, but like the iQue has voice commands for turn-by-turn. I use MSS&T 2004 now. Looking to upgrade. +GeoForse
Does MS S & T give turn cues as your traveling? Either "turn left" or "turn right" as you approach a change of direction in your route. Does it give warnings if you get off route. My GPS (M330) does not give this info, so I wondered if the program did? GeoForse Quote Link to comment
