Travel Bug Hotel

I've heard the term, travel bug hotel tossed around a few times, but nobody has ever explained exactly what it is.

Just a cache set up in an easy to get to location, to facilitate the easy movement of travel bugs. Often times near airports or other transportation hubs, just off the interstates, etc......

Also Travel Bug bed and breakfasts and Travel Bug university. If you've had a travel bug a while and can't seem to get it going on its mission, stop by a (relatively easy to find) hotel and let it get back into circulation.

 

If you are going someplace fun/exotic/far away, check out a nearby hotel to see if there are any bugs that should be going with you.

 

Your first stop at a hotel is posted as a "find." Others should be posted as "notes."

However, some of these abodes can become jails rather than hotels. Some of them require you leave a bug if you take a bug. This can trap bugs in them for some time, particularly bugs some don't think as cute as others.

 

I suggest people boycott take one, leave one travel bug caches.

That will certainly get the bugs in them moving .

 

I don't like them for one reason. If they are stolen, a whole lot of travelbugs are gone too.

Understand I’m only talking about the ones that require a trade. The ones that let you take or leave a bug at will are fine.

Don't quite understand this. Could someone explain further. I had some trouble yesterday w/ a TB that hadn't been travelled right.

A TB Hotel is normally a 'cache, so the first time you visit it, you can log it as a find, just like any other 'cache. Subsequent visits, say to pick up or drop off other TBs should simply be posted as "Notes" to facilitate tracking that particular bug.

Also, if you are a TB owner, add a note to your personal TB tag and the web page that one of the goals of your TB is to avoid caches with any restrictions on removing TB's.
