Okay, so I downloaded the easyGPS to my computer; it runs fine. I go to start downloading waypoints to do a cache and it trys saving the .asp file...not the .loc file that's needed...what is going on? can some one help me? or at least point and laugh?

{In the voice of Nelson from the Simpsons} Ha Hah!

I suspect you're clicking on the link and telling it to "save as..." And that will cause the problem you describe. The icon actually links to a script that checks to see if you've gone through the license agreement, and takes you to the screen with the agreement if you haven't. (side effect, you need to be logged in.)

If you have "agreed', then it sends down the file. So you need to just click on the icon, and let it do its thing.

granolajoe,

I don't know why it works this way, but I had the same problem. I finnaly learned that it takes three steps to do the download.

1) Click on the little icon, and on the first File Download screen that appears, select the 'Open' option and not the 'Save to file' option.

2) Another File download screen will appear. DO the same on this one, 'Open' and not 'Save'.

3) Now the third and final File down load screen will appear. Leave this one set for 'Save to file', as it is the actual .loc file that easygps uses. Pick where you want to save it, and you are done.

A little strange, but it works... BTW, I'm using IE 5.5 for this.

Woohoo this seemed to have worked. I was just clicking on the icon; the 'save target' option was grayed out...wierd, but the open;open;save trick seemed to have worked. Many thanx
