motherduck
Where on Ebay can I find Garmin Etrex? I've tried putting in Gps and Garmin but I keep getting nothing found. Also what cable do I need to get to conect it to my computer ( Windows 98!!) Quote Link to comment
+Geoki
I use this one often just to see what prices things go for, you never know ! Just type in gps and enter. You'll have to browse through the pages, having just checked just now therre is a garmin etrex on the first page. Hope this helps. Quote Link to comment
+Nellies Knackers
You should get a data cable with an Etrex (if new) it'll be a serial cable and there is plenty of freeware available for organising waypoints tracks and routes. Quote Link to comment
+MarcB
I'd have thought "etrex" on it's own would have worked. If that doesn't bring anything up then it ain't there! MarcB Quote Link to comment
+M3ZPY
Don't bid for a plain yellow etrex as you cannot use a data cable - this is a basic unit Quote Link to comment

You dont get a cable with the basic yellow etrex. It might be better to buy another unit as the rest of the range come with leads included Quote Link to comment

The geko 101 doesnt work with a data lead Quote Link to comment

AJK
Just to clarify, while the yellow model does not come with a cable as standard, you can buy one, and hook it up to the unit. Quote Link to comment
+M3ZPY
oops my mistake!! Sorry I do get a bit mucking fuddled. what I meant to say was the basic etrex does not have a data cable with it - you have to puchase seperately and you can only download 50 waypoints and one route unlike the Legend or Vista but I went for the Vista and found it greattt but now I have a 60cs and can never get lost no matter how hard I try! +M3ZPY
on a better note I do know a man who can get all Garmin related stuff at very competitive prices than on e-bay i.e. gps, software, cables, mounts. He does sell mostly ballooning stuff and etrex bits on t'Bay if you wish i can forward you his mail. Quote Link to comment
+naffita
oops my mistake!! .... and you can only download 50 waypoints You is certainly fuddled 500 waypoints in my etrex. To motherduck, I think you will find the basic yellow jobby well up to the task of geocachiteringisation, never had a bit of bother with mine. Quote Link to comment
+M3ZPY
double oops oh well I missed the extra 0 out picky! but I do have the quality goods still hee!hee! And no comments and quality and how you use it please Quote Link to comment

Not sure about other models. Quote Link to comment
+The Hokesters
I can definitely recommend the Garmin Geko 301 which needs an addtional cable costing about a tenner. All available on eBay and I can recommend Mackmaddies who iport them from the States and for your extra bits and bobs then I can recommend GPSBitz who is also an ebay seller. Si Quote Link to comment
