+PDOP's
Yes and no. There is free software like GPSTrackmaker that will work with free topo maps from Toporama but you have to download and georeference these maps manually. There are the websites like MapBlast, ect (they're listed on each cache page) that will do this online too. Quote Link to comment

+nothingface
well now, on to the problem of converting them. iknow i could use jeep.com for 99% of them but i havnt figured out how to enter in a way point on the site. nothingface Quote Link to comment
+Red90
It is fairly straightforward to convert. 60 minutes in a degree, 60 seconds in a minute. example: 52 degrees 27.459 minutes = 52.4577 degrees 27.459 / 60 = 0.4577 OR 52 degrees 27.459 minutes = 52 degrees 27 minutes 27.54 seconds 0.459 * 60 = 27.54 Quote Link to comment
+PDOP's
or you can use GeoCalc a nifty program written by a cacher. Quote Link to comment
+nothingface
alot of helpful tips from everyone. going on jeep.com i found that if i click on the coordinate translator link i can actually enter co-ords in and itll translate it for me into several other types of map datum. and i dont have to open up another program or scribble a bunch of equations down on paper (i am, you can say, mathematically retarded). thanx everyone nothingface Edited November 8, 2004 by nothingface Quote Link to comment
+Keith Watson
Try gps visualizer. You have to be on line, but you can upload and LOC file and pick the type of map you want. Quote Link to comment
gpsvisualizer
Try gps visualizer. You have to be on line, but you can upload and LOC file and pick the type of map you want. And if you use GPS Visualizer's "waypoints form", you can simply type in coordinates (without having to upload a file). Quote Link to comment
Dave Lucas
My Magellen 315 will let me enter coords in any system, then change systems... so now those coords show up in new system. Ie... Enter NOOKIE POINT as UTM save switch coord system to Lat/Long open NOOKIE POINT see NOOKIE POINT as Lat/Log. D Quote Link to comment
