+Street surgeon
I have a Garmin GPSMAP 276C and I want to see my elevation but I don't know how to make it happen. My manual refers me to two places. One asks me if I want to see it in feet or meters and another page gives the definition of elevation but nothing points me on how to make it show up or hide it on the screen. Any suggestions? Thanks Brian Quote Link to comment
+Sputnik 57
I haven't read this review in its entirety, but you may find some tips there. It looks like when viewing a waypoint, you get elevation information. Quote Link to comment
Vlad
go to whichever screen you want to show elevation on - let's say the map screen. press menu - then go to page layout which allows you to pick whether you want the data fields to be "overlayed" or in a single column on the right side of the screen etc. (if necessary press menu again) then go to "change data fields". if you look carefully you'll see that the topmost field will be highlit in a slightly different shade than the others. if you then press enter you'll be able to choose from a list of fields. press enter to confirm your choice (elevation). you'll then go back to the previous step where you can use the direction pad to move the "highlight" to other fields and again by pressing enter you can then change those. be careful displaying elevation in overlay mode on the 276 (don't recall if it was automotive or marine mode that was the problem) - check garmin's website. if you're not running a new enough version of the unit's firmware it will cause the unit to hang. +Street surgeon
Thank you! That did it. I didn't know I had so many options when it came to selecting what was shown. Thanks again! bkuntz Quote Link to comment
