Midnight Rider
We took a day trip to Corpus Christi / Port Aransas today and had a lot of fun tracking down some caches. My very first find as a geocacher was the "It aint about caching" http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...85-b34589fb86b1 What a nice view and it was a lot of fun to locate it. I saw just a bit of it and knew it was what I was looking for. Quote Link to comment

Midnight Rider
Thanks! Me and the wife are totally sold on it... she is the one thats tough to get interested in things, but she loves puzzles and mysteries and the getting out and finding of the caches. She was saying today that she doesnt care if we ever take anything or leave anything that she gets the kick out of just seeing all the stuff in the box or container. I have to agree with her :-) Quote Link to comment
+globalgirl
Ah Aransas - I once flew down there from Denver - only to see the (then) last handful of Whooping Cranes on the planet. Do they still nest there? Congratulations. I'm a relative noobie too. With 70 finds - I learn something new with each and every find. Quote Link to comment
Midnight Rider
The Whooping Cranes are doing better than ever. Lots of Federal Protection and lots of birdwatchers. Quote Link to comment

Zoptrop
We've spent many a happy summer days in Port A. Wish I was there right now. Ps: Found that cache in July and I've still got sand in my sneakers. Quote Link to comment
Spanish Rose
Congrats!!! I started off by just "tagging" along for an event cache w/ family and was hooked. Found my first find in FL while visiting my daughter...best part about the find is that it was my daughter's first hide! We now have 3 generations involved. Quote Link to comment
+Sputnik 57
MR, welcome to the Recreational Activity/Sport/Hobby. As a fellow Gulfcoat Texan, I recommend you visit the Texas Geocaching Association. Lots of good info and a local forum there. Quote Link to comment
