Bramble Tips

Having just removed bramble thorns from my fingers and legs, just wondered if any one had any tips on removing them?

Apart from squeezing the said area until it either pops out, or dig and them with a pin until you end up with peppered red spots all over. ;)

We use the dogs to break the trail for us - their fur catches most of the thorns and they leave a much safer path in their wake.

Of course, you still need to be careful when you're trying to get the bramble thorns out of them once you get home...idly skriching their ears and getting a sudden sharp pain in the tip of your finger can be even worse since you're not expecting them. ;)

Sorry I can't be of any more help

Can I borrow that Stuey when I need to take my fully grown african lion (which was shamelessly palmed off on me by our vet as an ordinary ginger tom cat!) to the vet for his booster jags ???

Getting him into the dog box (anthing designed for a normal cat is too small for Oscar) can be traumatic (in the proper meaning of the word).... like the last time the vet gave me a disapproving look as Oscar was covered in blood....but unfortunately....it was all my blood :lostsignal::unsure:

This is the recommended garment to be worn after spending a weekend away with a few mates Geocaching, and not worrying too much about missing your partners birthday or worse still anniversary. :o:o

Stuey I can't quite remember which one applied to you?? :lostsignal::unsure:

Ah, a handy way of finding all those magnetic London caches. Just walk by them and 'Clang!' - "Found it!"

P.S. On the subject of brambles, I use a very hot bath to soften the skin and a good pair of tweezers to pluck the offending thorn or splintery bit out.

Get yourself some trekking poles. Then you can hack your way through the brambles. Also useful to deter any interested bulls and to push that geocache just out of arms reach in it's hiding place.
