+tirediron
Looks like work will have me in Halifax over the winter (November - May except for Christmas-New Years) and I really want to get some caching in while I am there and wondered if there are any organized events or anything that I could come on board for... I know the area well, but will be without a car for the most part. Quote Link to comment

arbalo
hello canada, in the weekend newspaper ( www.ksta.de germany) there was a report about "oak island". http://www.oakislandtreasure.com/ on this island a treasure should buried!? I do not beleive in stories like this, but my question is, is on this island a cache? or is it not possible to go there because it´s private? regards from germany alex Quote Link to comment
+MedicP1
Alex I believe the answer to your question is in the last paragrapg of the information section in the webpage of your link "Unfortunately…the island is closed to the public now….but hopefully tours will be available again soon. The last activity of any merit occurred in 1995 when a team from Woods Hole spent two weeks on the island and also surveyed the surrounding bay." This 'treasure and island' has been the source of quite a few documentaries and even more tales told across a campfire or pitchers of beer. Quote Link to comment
