J Dub Posted October 24, 2004 Author Share Posted October 24, 2004 Thanks, Patrick, that brings up a good point. I haven't been using a gps for very long. Sometimes it's accurate to within 15 feet and sometimes it's only good to within 50'. What should I do if I hide my cache and it's not very accurate do to trees getting in the way or something? Earthdog Patrick Posted November 18, 2004 Share Posted November 18, 2004 Sometimes what we'll do is sset the GPSr down and go off and do some exploring for ten or fifteen minutes, let it settle down and get a good read. Other times, we get our reading, then wander off with the GPSr , come back and see if it reads the same, if not do it again, and sometimes jsut manually avaerage our results. In deep canopy there's not a whole lot you can do... Quote Link to comment
