+Centex Trekker
Anybody see the episode of LAs Vagas last week where the girls went out into the desert looking for buried silver? One of them had what looked like a Garmin Rhino 110. She said it had a color display, but when I checked the Garmin site, it wasn't there. I guess they took creative license to make it sound better. +TotemLake
A 60c almost looks like a Rhino. Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
Yeah... was it black with just the one short antenna? Edited October 19, 2004 by Neo_Geo Quote Link to comment
+leatherman
No, it was a yellow Rino 110. They lied about the color screen. I saw a Meridian on CSI. They had at beeping as it zeroed in on a body. They do whatever they want on TV. They expect everyone to be to stupid to notice. Edited October 19, 2004 by leatherman Quote Link to comment
+Centex Trekker
Yeah, it was yellow and had two antennas. They never showed the screen. I figured it was a Rhino. Quote Link to comment
+Panda Fan
About a week or two ago I saw an episode of Crossing Jordan in which they were using my 60cs to locate Jordon who was in a tunnel. I guess you can call it Geocaching for Jordan. Of course you would loss the signal in the tunnel. Quote Link to comment
Dukie 'n' Dad
Well, remember when the shooter (I refuse to use the term 'sniper' as that implies a lot more skill than these low lifes had) in the Maryland area? For weeks the press was going nuts because leads didn't produce a suspect or conviction. Guess the networks are duped by their own shows. In real life, you do not get a ballistic report while you wait, a DNA breakdown in 20 minutes, and a case solved in an hour. In fact, even in the liberal state of Taxachusetts DAs have a very limited number of DNA tests they are allowed to request each year due to the overhead and time it takes to run the tests. The fact that TV use salt shakers as medical instuments (Star Trek) or GPS as body locators is just more of the same kind of Hollywood BS that the bulk of America seems to blindly accpet as 'truth'. Want more evidence as to how duped the american people are? Go back and look up speeches by presidents in the Kennedy or prior eras. Now compare those with the 30 second or less sound bite speeches used today. Vastly different in the level of detail and vastly different in the 'spin'. Welcome to the MTV age where the media are seen as some great window on the culture when in fact, it is defining the culture. Quote Link to comment
