Jumbo Village
Looks like phone technology is good enough to store more data than your basic Garmin now: http://www.66.com/route66/products.php?cid=UK This is the UK one, but it looks as though they cover the States too Does anyone have, or actually use one of these to geocache? I know I'd think about buying one of the Nokias if they were any good because my pockets are getting pretty heavy these days! Cheers Richard Quote Link to comment

+user13371
... www.66.com ... I've used Route 66 mapping software on the Mac and PC. Great dataset (TeleAtlas, mostly) but an infuriating, limited, and buggy user interface. It isn't worth the aggravation. Edited October 15, 2004 by lee_rimar Quote Link to comment

+jollybgood
<<and it only works where Nextel has network coverage. >> Heh...., well it's not really a GPS then is it? ;D Strike this one from my wish list. The TV ads looked promising. I'm kind a glad it's not as good as it sounds. I don't need any new gadgets right now. Quote Link to comment
+Minex
Faster than you thought... Here's the CNN American news story. $10 a month for 10 routes, or $20 for unlimited (ie, 30-100 route requests). Screw that -- for $99, you could buy yourself a more useful Yellow Etrex and it would be cheaper in the long run. Quote Link to comment
