+Birdsong-n-Bud
What does it mean when someone signs a log with the acronym: SL/TFTC? I realized SL means "signed log," but the rest? Thanks Quote Link to comment

+Birdsong-n-Bud
Thanks for the Cache. D'OH! Of course, that makes sense. Thank you. The site of acronyms was very helpful, and I bookmarked it so I could refer to it as questions continue to arise. Thank you! Quote Link to comment
Keystone
In addition to Prime Suspect's fine new magnum opus, there are two other glossaries of geocaching terms and acronyms. You'll find links to the official Geocaching.com Glossary and to Markwell's NeoGeologisms if you read the FAQ topic that is pinned at the top of this forum. Quote Link to comment

Thanks It stands for, "This Sport Is Addictive-Run Away While You Still Have A Chance". Just kidding of course ... hope you enjoy geocaching as much as I do. Quote Link to comment
+blindleader
For more acronyms check Prime Suspect's Geolex Warning: Thread Hijack in progress. Now that everyone has the code book, I have to ask a perplexing question: "dead clams"??? I was perusing the linked lexicon and ran across the term DPM (For you language purists - It’s an initialization, not an acronym). The phrase 'wound my heart with a monotonous languor’ naturally set off my movie trivia alarms (The Longest Day), and I was puzzled at how musical instruments transformed themselves into deceased mollusks. Does anyone know? There are far too many hits on "dead clams" in the forum search to be much use. edit: I meant initialism, not initialization. Sheesh, computers on the brain. Keystone
The genesis of "DPM" can be traced back to this topic in the Northeast Forum. BrianSnat and Perfect Tommy came up with the codeword phrase for a cache that, well, wasn't very enjoyable. StayFloopy then suggested that it be abbreviated to DPM because it's hard to write long French phrases in cache logs. Quote Link to comment

Skimming that thread, now over a year old, it appears that nothing really changes here in the forums, although perhaps they had a better sense of humor back then. More on DPM here.
