How To Get Money To Buy A Gps??

Mowing lawns is how we did it as a kid. Push mower, hand shears. $5 split between the three of us.

Today, kids seem insulted if you offer anything less than $20 AND want to use your gear and gas. ~sheesh~

Lawns and odd jobs. Anything that people don't want to do themselves they will pay to have someone else do it if the price is right. Heck, I know adults that do that for extra money.

It's all about finding a service or a product people are willing to spend money on.

Well, depending on your self-esteem.

Around here we have people, men and women, that are driven around to street corners. They are dropped off, where they make their way to Interstate and Highway exits. They hold up card board signs with expressions of pitiful despair on them. People stopped at the traffic lights on these exit ramps toss/hand them 1 to 10 dollars at a time. This can be very lucrative. They can make from 30 to 100 dollars a day, tax free. That's more than me. :D

You can identify the pimped out scammers by the way they're dressed. They're smoking Marlboro's. Wearing Levi's, Columbia jackets, and Nike cross trainers. Standing next to their Jansport backpacks. Look for the little details next time you drive by one. Even though they have scruffy faces and hair, don't be fooled.

I was going to suggest convenience, and liquor stores. But your list has me beat!

$30? Try $48 the last time I filled up. I love having the 20 gal. tank in our jeep except when it comes time to fill up :D

There are a lot of people on the street corners in Austin. Some corners are more lucrative than others. Some have dogs with them, but the dogs always seem to look well-fed. The one that really got us as a scam was the one we saw the other day... a very nice looking young lady (20's?) with a decent haircut, very clean, and on crutches.. missing one leg. That is the most unusual one we have seen yet! However, given her basic state of cleanliness, I am sure she also has another job and a prosthesis.

That is just as bad as the people that come up to you in the store and hand you a little card saying they are deaf and mute, and selling these pens (or whatever) is what supports their family. I wish I remembered enough sign language to see if they are legit! In either of these cases, there are training programs and jobs out there if they want one!

(sorry about the rant... some of those folks on the street corners make more money than I do... Come on, folks... get a real job and some self-respect.)

Ive had it about 1 1/2 years and the rubber gasket around the edge is falling off. Besdies that it works great.

Whomever finds it has the choice of getting it repaired or just living with it the way it is.

Sell crack, obviously. One guy in England was making about $9,000 a week. Of course he was arrested and deported. In the US they'll just send you to prison for 5 years or so (first offense). That is, of course, if the competition doesn't shoot you down in a hail of bullets.

It's a lot like playing the stock market. The biggest risks yield the biggest returns.

Make friends with someone who is technologically-oriented and has other technologically-oriented friends, and ask them if they know of any GPSr's lying around that someone is not using or someone who is buying a new one and would be willing to get rid of their old one.

That's pretty much how I got mine (well it was actually a gift but it's an old un-needed model). And my digital camera. And my laptop. And my computer chair.

Except it was all through my brother and not a friend... It pays to know people who know people/companies who throw out their old computer stuff!

Edited to add: I forgot one-- that's also how I got my Blackberry

The American way I worked for it.

Well the first GPSr that I used was my bosses, or more correctly the companies, but you really wouldn’t want to try to find a Geocache with a survey 9sub mm) quantity instrument. All the LCD display shows was number of observation.

:huh::huh:<_<
