GSPLover
Hi!!! I'm totally new to this Geocaching stuff. I just picked up my first GPS unit on monday, a Meridian GOLD SE. Its a special bundle which comes with the MapSend Streets and destinations for Canada software and an additional 16 megs of memory. So far its a sweet unit. For those of you in or around the Collingwood Ontario area, I plan to plant a cache up in that area this coming weekend (Oct 31 thru Nov 2nd). I'll of course post its info when its done. +BlueDeuce
You might want to consider finding a few to get an idea of what types of containers fellow cachers are using that work well in your area, how the containers are camouflaged, hiding techniques, etc. That experience will help make your first cache planting a success. Good luck and welcome! Quote Link to comment
GSPLover
Ya I've been reading all the posts on here and plan to use an ammo can. Saw a website that showed how one guy camo painted it. In a bush you'd have to be looking for it to find it. Quote Link to comment
+bazzle
Reading is one thing, but you still may want to consider actually finding a few before you start hiding... +Renegade Knight
Actually you should just plant the cache and call it a job well done. There are things you will learn as you go but you can go back and tweak your cache if you do learn something that has you re-think the cache. My first cache I ever planted is still my favorite. The only reason it's archived is that I moved. Quote Link to comment
+WARTIDE
Renegade Knight beat me to the punch. Just plant the cache and enjoy. It's not rocket science after all. If you need to go back and edit it, so be it. The important thing is to enjoy yourself and place a good cache for your fellow cachers. Wartide Quote Link to comment
GSPLover
Yes I agree with you Renegade Knight and Wartide. Its not rocket science. I'm pretty dadgum good at hiding things! I've got a spot in mind with an absolutley AMAZING view espsecially first thing in the morning as the sun is coming up. I'll let everyone know if/when the cache is planted. Quote Link to comment
