So I called Target and asked why I am waiting over a month, and the ETA says December. I got a customer service woman who just kept repeating that if I wanted to I could cancel my order and reorder the one that says 2-3 week delivery. I asked why I would have to cancel my order and reorder, and we just went round and round. It's lookin' more like they intend on sending the Legend NOT C. I wrote them an email asking the same question. No response yet. Normally I wouldn't call or write, but at this point, I don't see that it will matter. Quote Link to comment

Did you order one when it was still a C? I know that now it is listed as a plain Legend but those of us who have full blown orders for C have not been notified so far of a change. I am still waiting for someone to get a regular or get the "e-mail" saying they aren't shipping it. How do you know that it isn't what we ordered and since our order still says C, unless you also ordered how do you know that we won't get what we ordered? The link says, if you want to buy another one order here but it doesn't say that is what I am getting, it seems to want me to order another one. I hate to tell ya buddy, but the store won't be able to do anything for you as I work at the Guest Service counter at my target store. Target stores dont have anything to do with Target.com as the only thing we are able to do is return the merchandise with a valid receipt. You're invoice that you get in the packaging is not a receipt. Most items can be returned at the store from Target.com, I have never dealt with returning electronics from target.com to date! Target.com Return Policy Most items on Target.com can be returned to a Target Store or by mail. Please note that shipping and handling and gift wrap charges cannot be refunded when returning items to a store. It was an error on their part and they are NOT obligated to honor it, nor will they do so. Here's the email I received from them: Greetings from Target.com. I'm sorry for any misunderstandings with your order item, "eTrex Legend C Bonus Pack." Unfortunately, your order was placed for the item version with the 8MB of flash memory. Therefore, I have canceled your order so that you may go back and place a new order for the item your wanting to purchase, "Garmin eTrex Legend C Pocket-Sized Color Handheld GPS--ETREXLEGENDC." The catalog number for this item is 650402 and the link is: For any inconvenience this has caused you, I'm sending you a $20 promotional code to use toward any future order you may place on Target.com. Of course I didn't order the wrong item; Target was the one who advertised and linked the wrong item. But it matters not, as their policy clearly states that they aren't responsible for this type of mistake. I strongly suggest you guys email them for clarification (that's what prompted this response from them), otherwise they will ship you the older version Legend and then you'll have to deal with returning it and trying to recover your shipping charges. As far as I know, that's what they are sending. If I receive something else, then they made a mistake, and should provide a FULL refund, along with an appology and some atonement gesture ($20 gift cert). Unless I get an email before they ship, that's what I expect. If I do get an email, then the ball is in my court, and of course I'll cancel. Most reputable companies will stand behind their error. This explains why they clearanced out the eTrex Yellow's and Forerunner 201's. Those items were not bonus packs. Let's see, they described a C, we bought a C, the shipping to niskibum says they are shipping a C, to me if they send a plain legend, then it might be viewed as a switch. They instructed me to place a new order for the item I really wanted -- the Legend C at a cost of $350 each. BTW, someone mentioned earlier that $169 was not a bad price for the B/W Legend.....try looking at Offroute.com. They are selling theLegend for about $140, and the Legend C for $268. +niskibum Posted November 6, 2004 Share Posted November 6, 2004 That was me that mentioned the 169 price wasn't too bad, but that is after shipping, tax, and includes a garmin case and instructional video as well. I received my package today, and as we all suspected, it was a regular legend bonus package. I got on the phone and called the 800 line. I had a nice conversation with a guy, and told him that I had ordered the C package and received the regular legend. He looked at my order and said no problem, he would ship a replacement (due date Dec. 22, but should be here earlier according to him) and that I should print out a shipping label from the Target website to return the other one. So now I just drop off the other one at the mailbox and start the waiting game again. Still some hope, just gotta play the game. Quote Link to comment
