radioguy949 Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 This weekend while caching in Burley, Idaho. I came across fishPOET's GeoToken. I was just curious if anyone could tell me what these are and what they are for. Are they just a way for a cacher to "tag" the cache. or is there more to it than that? Just curious! Thanks! +Anonymous' Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 You can collect them or trade with them, whatever, they are the cacher's signature item. Quote
SkinGuy Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 I leave my tokens as a signature item in caches that I find. Usually they are marked with the find date. They are free for the taking -- some folks collect signature items. Quote
radioguy949 Posted October 13, 2004 Author Posted October 13, 2004 Fair enough!!! Thanks! Any advice on getting one made??? Quote
TotemLake Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 You just missed on a golden opportunity to buy a few of the Washington State geocoins. Quote
SkinGuy Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 I had mine made by the Token Factory (available online). I was very happy with the entire transaction. Quote
niskibum Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 That's cool, Fishpoet is a cacher from a town just east of LA. I brought one of his tokens back with me last year and dropped it in a cache up near CDA. I wonder if it's the same one. Post a pic of it if you get a chance, so I can see if it's the same kind. He has a few different designs. Quote
MrCOgeo Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 I had my GeoTokens made for trade, tagging of caches, conversation pieces and maybe, just maybe, because I like seeing my name in GOLD! My intention is for them to be kept, traded and overall just enjoyed. They are designed to have no strings (or chains ) attached unless designated as a Travel Bug or other Traveler with a tag. Quote
