+Chaz
Would you consider a river clean up project a CITO Cache? Quote Link to comment
+BooBooBee
I'm fairly new to geocaching, and quite new to the CITO EVENT discussion, but it seems to me ANY cleanup related to geocaching could be considered a CITO event. Right? Quote Link to comment
+MissJenn
As you write up the CITO event page, make it clear whether or not this is an event specifically with geocachers there specifically to do the CITO. One of my submissions a long time ago was denied since it was clearly some other group's event ("Splash For Trash" - organized by a local scuba group) that I was piggybacking on. We still did the Splash For Trash - it just wasn't an official CITO event smiley face. NOTE that the denial or the listing of your event cache is not a judgment on whether it is a "good thing to do" or not. Just that CITO events listed on geocaching.com must comply with this site's guidelines. Good luck! And hope you guys get a LOT of trash! Quote Link to comment
+fly46
I did one where the Parks actually requested that the cachers come and help. We did and we made it an event. The parks also invited people from the University. I would think you'd be able to get a cito event going for a rivercleanup. Quote Link to comment
