PDA based GPSr's tend to be rather more fragile than their purpose-built cousins. For about the same (or less) than your plug-in GPS module, you could probably buy a nice basic dedicated GPS which would be considerably more rugged. Of course it you're not using this for 'caching you probably don't care... Just my $00.02 worth... Quote Link to comment

I use it with Mapopolis software as it is more compatiple for Geocaching. All that being said I had way too many close calls with the Ipaq and finally went out and bought a Magellan Gold. Good move on my part. Much easier all the way around....and it is easier to find caches with it too. Although the Magellan does routing I prefer the Ipaq for in car navigation. Quote Link to comment
