+junglehair Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 I am trying to pull together a group of us from Western New York to head down to the City for a day of caching. The date hasn't been confirmed yet, but we are looking at possibly November 20. I would love to meet up with some of the NYC area cachers, and thought maybe we could arrange to meet for lunch or something. Any suggestions? Also, if anyone has recommendations for "must see" NYC caches, let me know and I'll make sure we add them to our list. Quote
+avroair Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 Hey Junglehair, You have already met me, but I work in the city LMK when you are coming down. Quote
+JMBella Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 I'd be happy to meet some of you "upstate" folks. Count me in. Just make sure you avoid this lame cache. Quote
+JoiseyGirl Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 Would love to join in the fun, have marked my calendar. Quote
+Planet Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 (edited) For must see caches, have dboggny take you night caching in Central Park! It's quite a thrill, but don't forget your flashlights. Edited October 2, 2004 by Planet Quote

Make sure you waypoint your car, too. Don't want to start heading East when you're trying to get back to your car, that's South of you......right Planet? Quote

Why you all followed me is beyond me! Did you think I knew what I was doing after the first wrong turn? HA! Guess what. Quote
dboggny Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 if i remember correctly, i said to IV, "what direction are we going?" to which he replied, "South". i then asked, "why?" when i approaced you, and questioned your directions, you put the gps in my face, said you were just following the arrow and kept on walking. Thats all i needed to hear. I dont argue with women holding GPSr's who think they know where they are going. Quote
+junglehair Posted October 6, 2004 Author Posted October 6, 2004 This is great. I have to get people around here to confirm if they will be going, but should know pretty soon. Anyone have a suggestion for where to have lunch? I love it when a plan comes together! Quote
+junglehair Posted November 12, 2004 Author Posted November 12, 2004 Update - there will likely be 5 of us coming from the Rochester area to go caching in Central Park on November 20. We'd love to meet up with a few of the locals for lunch if you are still interested. Any suggestions for a meeting location? Quote

+junglehair Posted November 15, 2004 Author Posted November 15, 2004 How about at The Castle? The Castle sounds like a good place to meet up. How does 11:30 a.m. sound? We'll be the ones with GPSr's in hand Quote
+junglehair Posted November 17, 2004 Author Posted November 17, 2004 Just got a message from the tour company that we booked our trip to NYC with that they are cancelling the tour. It seems they didn't sell enough tickets to make it worthwhile. Guess we'll have to reschedule this for another time. On the bright side, it means that I'll be able to attend the two events around here this weekend (Friday night in Syracuse and Saturday night in Binghamton). Quote
