6Cats1Dog&Us Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 I posted this same message in the New England Forums since, I am sure there are New England Cachers who have done this same thing: We are leaving on Friday (10/1) for a long weekend in NYC. While sightseeing, we would like to cache; however, the pages for NYC caches are daunting. We will be in the Lower and MidTown Manhattan locations. Can anyone provide some fun, easy caches that stick out in their minds? If you have some in mind and don't want to go rooting through your own profile, just let me know who you are and I can do the legwork. Thanks a bunch. Kristy (2.5 of the 5Cats&Us)
Poppa Duck Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 I'd say do a search on zip 10003 (that's about the Union Square/ Washington Square area - below 23rd street) and look north. I've had the most fun doing the Central Park caches - they're a bit north of that zip code (which is why I say look north) and you can do most if not all in a day. Enjoy the weekend... -Poppa Duck
+avroair Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 Five Star NEW YORK... this cache will take you to: Times Square Rockefeller Center Carnegie Hall Central Park Historic Harlem Rose Center and Planetarium Belvedere Castle Columbia University If you are not up for that, there are over 20 caches in Central Park alone...
+KBer Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 A little shameless self promotion by Avroair A true NYC geocacher Five Star is a great cache, and if you stick with it (investing the time), it will be one of the finer ways to see Gotham City. It includes stops that the normal tourist would see, but also will provide a different look at our great city. I highly recommend it.
6Cats1Dog&Us Posted September 29, 2004 Author Posted September 29, 2004 Shamelessly Promote!!!!! This is the kind of help I am looking for! Thank you so much and keep it coming. (Thanks for the "zip tip", I didn't know what to enter). KL
6Cats1Dog&Us Posted September 30, 2004 Author Posted September 30, 2004 Thank you all so very much. We have a half a day of work today and hit JFK tomorrow at 0810! Wish us luck. Your friends in Caching: 5Cats&Us
