art begotti
okay, i'm willing to give a prize (like an imaginary hug or something like that) to whoever can beat my record of 5 minutes away from the ftf... whats your closest time after ftf? working in a group and not finding it first does not count. +G'n,G
We've been about 15 minutes away from the ftf. (Fourth to find) Quote Link to comment
Mr Smiles
I'll pass on the hug...for now! I walked up on the FTF signing the log! Who's gonna beat that for a near miss? Quote Link to comment
The Puzzler
I walked up to a cache site with two other cachers looking for it about 30 m away from the huge tree stump I wanted to look around. I said hi, started a quick first pass around the stump, and as I stepped over the cache to the other side of the stump, one of the other cachers spotted it. I surely would have found it within the next 30 to 60 seconds on my next pass around the stump . . . but NO! Instead, I met a nice local geocaching couple and we had a good chat. +Tsegi Mike and Desert Viking
As I walked to the cache, the first to find cacher was headed to his truck, cache in hand, looking for a pen to sign the log book. If only I hadnt stopped to eat lunch that day. At other times, we were looking for it, and others cacher came on us. By luck, they found it first. Cant win them all. Mr Smiles reaches into his swag bag...pulls out a tube of Pringles...offers it in trade for the bag of chips and says..."When you're done, you can put a little logbook in there and ...") +Enspyer
We were the FTF on a cache and while we were just getting the cache out and signing the log some more cachers came by...so I'd say they missed it by like a minute and a half! Edit: Making plurals match (grammar stuff!) Edited September 19, 2004 by Enspyer Quote Link to comment
sept1c_tank
The best I can offer is about an hour (on this cache). I met the FTF on the trail; he is an avid cacher and very proud of his FTF list. Quote Link to comment
Team FUBAR
I pulled into a parking lot. Searched for about 20 minutes. Went back to my car to check the caching page again. As I was reading here comes another group and they walked right up to it. That sucked. Quote Link to comment
