+Evil Chicken Posted September 19, 2004 Share Posted September 19, 2004 Lyme's is definitely no joke. My daughter ended up on IV treatment for 8 weeks due to Lyme's Disease last summer. Both my wife and I were treated for Lyme's this summer. My wife suffered some scary neurologic symptoms (slurred speech, vision problems, memory impairment). Thankfully her problems cleared up with treatment. She never had the classic bulls eye rash, but I did and it spread about 8 inches across my back! There was a vaccine, Lymerix, but it was pulled off the shelves (I believe) because it ended up harming more people than it helped preventing the disease. Quote Link to comment
