+Inukshuk and Arwen Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 I just wondered who has the highest caches per week rate since their first find. Ours is about 1.6/week since we started in aug03 which came as quite a surprise! Whats yours? Quote
+wildlifewriter Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 I tried to find thirty caches in my first thirty days - and made it with a day in hand. The hit rate dropped away, though, when I realised that I wasn't getting paid to work that hard! Quote
+OzGuff Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 800 finds, 55 weeks A little over 14.5 per week I need to pick up the pace... Quote
+Stuey Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 How do you work it out? errrm, total caches found divided by number of weeks caching. Mine is 4.01. Quote
+Team Hippo Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 (edited) As of yesterday, 301 finds since the middle of January 2004, so 1.4 a day or 9.8 a week. That will slow down considerably now, as I have to travel further afield... But I don't consider myself in any kind of race; I just to it because I enjoy it and have a large dog that needs exercising daily! Edited September 18, 2004 by Happy Hippo Quote
+Chips 'n' Ham Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 We're averaging 6.1 per week but I expect that will drop now the winter is approaching and we have done most of the local caches! Interesting stat though... Quote
+Beds Clangers Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 (edited) Whoops, thanks Stuey as simple as that Currently running at 9.9 caches a week, but like everyone else expect that to drop off with the nights drawing in. Whats your best caching day, mine appears to be Friday, must be because its POETS day! Nick Edited September 18, 2004 by Beds Clangers Quote
+The Spokes Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 0.6 per week. Just right Unfortunatally only 0.0521739 placed per week. will have to do better. Quote

+Firth of Forth Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 (edited) I thought I would try to find out who the keenest cacher in Scotland is. By my reckoning it is Ullium at a rate of 6.19 caches per week, closely followed by Perth Pathfinders at a rate of 6.18 per week. Ullium has the advantage of being retired! Given the relative sparsity of caches in Scotland, the distances that have to be travelled and the walking that has to be done, I think that these figures are pretty impressive. PPs also have an impressive 0.86 rate of cache setting; that's almost one cache per week! Other prolific Scottish cachers are: 3rd = place: Allieballie 5.52 (with no locationless and a 4-year-old in tow) 3rd = place: Roolku 5.52 (who does it on a bike) 5th place: TartanT 5.42 6th place: Haggis Hunter 4.53 7th place: The Tupperware Party 4.26 I hope that I haven't missed anyone out. Please correct me if I have. Oh and my rate is a miserable 3.99. Edited September 18, 2004 by Firth of Forth Quote
+harold1066 Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 32 finds since 29-7-01 = 0.19 31 finds since 12-6-04 = 2.2 That`s a bit better Geo Quote
choccymandm Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 3.14 for approx 72 weeks caching. Sunday is by far our best day and for some strange reason thursday the worst?? Quote
+Molinnis Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 321 caches, 130 weeks = 2.46 per week. Best day for finds, Sundays. Best month for finds, August. Quote
+Pharisee Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 714 caches in 195 expeditions spread over 688 days.... That's 7.26 caches per week, 3.66 caches per trip But statisics lie... that includes 17 'event' caches and 32 'locationless'. If you remove them it becomes... 6.76 caches per week and 3.4 caches per trip. Quote
+Haggis Hunter Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 6th place: Haggis Hunter 4.53 Oh and my rate is a miserable 3.99. FoF thanks for sorting out my stats for me, it has certainly saved me from doing it. What I don't believe however is that my stats work out better than yours. I think you are being over modest on your capabilities Quote
+Hi-Tek Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 To help out in your calculations you might like to visit this site GeocacheUK - Stats Here you can find a wealth of stats for each UK cacher. I think you are being over modest on your capabilities It's probably because I spent the first 6 months of my caching career without a GPS. Once I really got going a year ago when I bought my GPS, the stats are a little different: 5.42 weekly average. Quote
davester Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Can I stake a claim to keen-ness by completing the walk visiting 11 caches tomorrow? Quote
+Bill D (wwh) Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 1.52 per week overall. But getting better recently - 5.00 per week over the last eight weeks. Quote
+Pengy&Tigger Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 409 caches in 22 weeks. 18.6 per week. We really must get out less! T Quote
+klaus23 Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 Stats schmats... Bet you nobody except me has driven 16,000 miles for 115 caches (the other 15 I've found have been on foot in New York) Quote
+dogastus Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 4.6 finds per week since I begun caching in June 2003. I'm quite surprised it's that high - I am obviously more addicted to this hobby than I thought! Quote
+Team Ullium Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 I've just got back from a two week geocaching holiday in Morayshire where my wife and I logged 36 caches out of 37 tried and I think that might be the reason for my name bubbling to the top of FoF's list Although I'm retired my spare time is limited as I lead a very active academic (and just recently a very active physical) life which means I have to fit in geocaching time when it is suitable. 36 caches in 11 days caching isn't all that much ... especially when I read that some cachers expect about 70 in a week's holiday geocaching As FoF stated the distances between caches in Scotland can be great (during my holiday I clocked up 1750 miles) and as nearby caches get scratched off my list it becomes more and more difficult to find the time and petrol money to go after more....so I suspect this will be the last time I get any sort of mention in dispatches Also, when I started geocaching early this year I couldn't walk more than 500yds after a two year illness which kept me housebound.... and now I am fit enough to walk for miles (16 miles on one occasion) All due to this great pastime of geocaching! One other benefit I have accrued from geocaching and that is I have come in contact with many very very nice people and made many great friends My life has been enriched in many many ways since I was introduced to this sport! Thanks everybody Ullium. Quote

+Seasider Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 My first 200 came up in 42 days at an average rate of 33.33 pw and my last 500 (to 1000) took 105 days which is also an average rate of 33.33 pw! I took it easy inbetween and cached on and off so only had a rate of 10.00 pw for 30 weeks. Overall my millenium was attained at a rate of 19.61 pw. I've taken it easy since my millenium cache and now have dropped to a sedate rate overall of 14.62 pw. Infact, since my retirement on 27th June I have found just 13 caches (two of which were event caches and 4 were last Sunday) which is a rate of 1.03 pw!! I love stats! Cheers! Seasider Quote
The Lonesome Ranger Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 My rate is only 3.75 a week (30 in about 8 weeks) but then again i am too young to drive, and have to school, then again i suppose most of you have to work all week too, so i'll stick by my innability to drive anywhere excuse. Anyway all that cycling will make me fit. Quote
