+tonydenson
Can someone please tell me what time of day, or how frequently, a pocket cache query gets serviced. I requested three earlier today and I have still not seen anything (I do have today ticked as one of my update days). Quote Link to comment
+smullis
Mine come fairly quickly. Make sure you select a day when creating them...even if you want them to run immediately. That is the mistake I made with my first queries. You can edit them by clicking on their name from the Pocket Queries area. Quote Link to comment
+tirediron
They should come fairly quickly (usually <1 hr) but things may be busy. also make sure that you didn't get too tangled in the "and" "if" statements and wind up creating a zero query! Quote Link to comment
Jeremy
Your 2 queries ran 3 and 4 minutes after you created them. Quote Link to comment
+tonydenson
Ah, that's what I was afraid of, I have been having some email problems. I'll try again Quote Link to comment
+tonydenson
Tried it again. Don't know what I am doing wrong but I'm definitely not receiving anything back, yet if I run the query on line it works fine. Shame, because I was going walking today and I've had to print a load of caches out to paper. Quote Link to comment
+CompuCash
are you setting the recommended ZIP function? What about your mail settings? Do you have a firewall? Changes to your system? What kind of trouble are you having with your mail? I think you should worry about getting that working properly before you start to work with the PQ problem, since they are dependent upon mail working properly. what about spam filters? Your own? Your ISP's? anything now or different thre? What about size limits on file attachments to mail? Edited September 17, 2004 by CompuCash Quote Link to comment
+tonydenson
To answer your questions - Yes, I am setting the zip function I have set my mail address to my default geocaching one - which is obviously working because I received your private mail with the text of your post. No firewall issues, other mail is fine No trouble now with my email, it was a temporary problem one day. As far as spam is concerned I have checked my junk mailbox as well Size limit might just be a problem - what size are these PQ attachments, I have requested 400 entries Quote Link to comment
+CompuCash
I get 150 items in my PQ for 140K zip file - size will vary some by content of files Quote Link to comment
+Night Stalker
Have you considered that the problem might be the file size of the attachment. I think that my 500 caches make the file between 2 and 3 meg. You might check, but sometimes your email server restricts the size of files. You might need to change that restriction before the queires will come over. One way to check would be to create a querie and restrict the responses to 20 and see if you get results. +tonydenson
Thanks everyone. Turned out my problem was the size of attachments, now receiving PQ's fine. Quote Link to comment

GrandpaCannon
A pocket query is a specially tailored search for caches on the website that is available to premium and charter members. The pocket query also allows you to have the results e-mailed to you in a couple different formats. Quote Link to comment
