Where To Buy Custom Stamps?

Recommended Posts

I wanna copy letterboxing and have my own custom stamp as a signature item (signature signature if you will).

Anyone know of a place that will make these? Any specific the geocaching that may already have some geocaching icons and stuff on it?

i got mine done by firm in norfolk england, but then i live in england. they were quite happy for me to email my avatar image and that's what my stamp is. so i guess that you can basically have any image you want and it'll be cut by computer. bear in mind accuracy so the more complicated the image the larger it'll need to be. mines about 1 inch square and looks great. only cost 13pounds

Keep in mind they do send it out and add a bit to make a profit, stll worth looking into tho.

There is a local guy in my town that has a machine that cuts stamps. i keep thinking about getting one.

alse think about just making one like the hardcore letterboxers do.

Do it, I don't think you'll regret it. My main reason for doing so was that our name is kinda long, the stamp looks pretty nice too. It is an 8 point compass rose with 2 circles, one touching the inner points (but hidden by the outer points), and the other touching the outer points. Our name encircles it.

Is there a place that has some stock drawing related to hiking or something like yours that looks like a compass?

I'd love to design my own, but I am hardly an artist. In fact, if I drew my own stamp, I wouldn't like it. I just basically want some kind of compass or something like that with my name on it so I can stamp all the logbooks.

I thought the same way but managed to muddle thru. You could try clip art files. Check with where you will be getting it from. They may take a physical copy or a computer file. Need to have it in a format they can use. BTW: that was also how I saved quite a bit of money. They were going to charge at least as much for setup as for the stamp itself. They were able to take a photocopy of my design and scan it to use for the template for my stamp. If you want a small one, keep it simple, it will show up better. If you want a bigger one you can have more detail. Mine will take 2 or 3 lines on a micro log, and I use it for them too. Overall it is about the size of a dime. Here are a couple of pictures.

Yep, try print shops in your area. That's what I did for for the stamps I use in making our signature geonickels. I e-mailed them the images that I wanted to use, and told them what I'd be doing with the stamps so they'd have some idea of size limitations and such. The two stamps, with shipping, totalled somewhere around $15.

I agree, use Sissy N CR's store.... Why not support other cachers instead of a corporate money machine.

the link

Stamps start at $3.00, and shipping is free if you spend $10 or more or only $1.50 if you don't.

Fellow cachers Sissy-n-CR have a caching supply store online where they will make a custom stamp for a paltry 3 bucks. This is an unmounted stamp, but you can get a block of wood to attach it to, and you're in bizniz.

I haven't personally ordered one yet, but it's on my short list of stuff to do.

I got my own carving supplies from Michael's Craft Store. The rubber is very easy to carve. I took some clipart...added some wording on the computer, flipped the image and printed it out. Then use a pencil and trace the portions you want carved out, rub the tracing onto the stamp material and start carving (the carving kit contained all the above instructions). It was very easy and I got my own personal stamp (and a little fun making it) for about $7 because I had to buy the carving kit.

You could try posting a request for grfx assistance in the Avatar request topic. It's in this forum. There are folks there helping with stamp requests as well.

Corp, I hate to be the one to break this to you, but the correct spelling of your first name is Corps. Corp is not a word, unless it's an abbreviation of Corporation.

Yes, I know that, but with an s was taken. Also, without the s it is an archaic Scottish form of corpse (according to Oxfords). Being partly of Scottish ancestry, that worked out quite nice, don't you think? In a way it is 'Body of Discovery' in addition to refering to Lewis & Clark, short for 'Corporation of Discovery' is fine too. There are several layers to it's meaning and spelling..........
