+Thystle
I can't believe there is a 3rd Hurricane heading for Florida! Don't forget Bonnie was a hurricane up until the moment she hit. In essence, Ivan will be the second for the panhandle. Thank goodness he changed course; many of us are still without power in the Palm Beaches, but I hate wishing a Cat 5 on somebody else! -Thys Quote Link to comment

+Jamie Z
I've recently read that residents of New Orleans were requested to evacuate. Obviously this is going to affect a lot of people. It's not much of an offer, but I just moved into a two-bedroom apartment, and I won't be using the other bedroom any time soon. If someone needs somewhere to stay while the weather passes, let me know. Keep in mind I'm a college student, and my apartment is indicative of my financial standing... plus I've just moved in, so it's not yet furnished at all... The apartment is in Memphis, right in the city, very near the University of Memphis. Jamie Quote Link to comment

+Jamie Z
JamieZ - what a nice offer! Apparently not nice enough. Nobody needs a place to stay. What if I throw in a fridge full of beer? I did say I was a college student. Jamie Quote Link to comment
+Cherokeecacher
Unfortunatly we do not have any extra room, but if anyone is seeking safety in Houston, e-mail me, through my bio page, and maybe we can do some caching to pass the time. Quote Link to comment

The tree is off of the roof and a temporary patch and tarp are in place to get us through Ivan. Zack Quote Link to comment
+Divine
Some e-mail spam I got today. Probably circulating around the internet: With all the news on TV lately about the extreme weather Conditionsaffecting the East Coast of the US, the mud slides in the Middle East and South America, the flood that made it's mark on Southern England. Along with the dire predictions made by such films as The Day After Tomorrow, we shouldn't forget that Finland has its share of devastating weather too. I've attached a photo illustrating the damage caused to my home from a storm that passed through South-Western Finland last week. It really makes you cherish what you have, and reminds us not to take things for granted ! No offence to those severely harmed because of the late hurricanes. My sympathies are with you.
