Direct Route Question

Ok, I figured out how to add & rename multiple maps on my SD card. Now is there a way to create a route from one map area to another?

Not a street route...you can only create a street route within a single region.

 

There are several workarounds that have been tried. One is to have a series of destination waypoints to allow you to chain autoroutes together, each subroute spanning a region.

 

Another is to create a street autoroute on the pc (which can go as long as coast to coast). If you try to transfer that route to the GPS, you can only send the beginning and destination waypoints over, and when you activate it the GPS will try to create the intermediate waypoints on the fly (and fail, of course, because it's going beyond a single region. However, you can change the street route on the PC to a waypoint route, and send all the waypoints in the route over. You don't get the street highlighting on the map display, but the waypoint comments do have useful street and turn information.
