+Sparrowhawk
Check it out. Some great abandoned railroad tunnels just CRYING for geocaches, if there are none there already. Anyone know which ones have caches so far? Quote Link to comment
+WeightMan
There is one at either end of the Cascade Great Northern Tunnel at Snoqualmie Pass. In addition the Prject APE cache is not far away. Quote Link to comment
+Right Wing Wacko
There is one at the Windy Point Tunnel near Stevens Pass. The cache is just west of Wellington, the site of one of the worst rail disasters in history when 96 people lost their lives at the avalanche at Wellington in 1910. Iron Goat Trail Incidently, the Great Northern Railway's route was over Stevens Pass. The old route over Snoqualmie belonged to the Chicago-Milwaukee-St. Paul-Pacific Railroad, more commonly known as "The Milwaukee Road". +dasein
To get to Steelhead Masters, you drive right by the "near Warm Springs, Oregon" tunnel (the 1st tunnel on the link you provided). This short drive along the Deschutes is absolutely gorgeous on a sunny day. Quote Link to comment
