Yes you read it right, I went caching today, the worst day of caching I ever had went after 7 found one, I came home placed my Gps on the counter like I have done hundreds of times, and my Daughter Misty a 15 year old Cockatoo, got on the counter and ate it, yup gone! in pieces and parts, I wanted to skin her and make a feather pillow, so now I really have to get a new Gps what is the best place to get a Garmin 60 C

and yes this is a true story!!

Since there is "use tax" aka "internet sales tax" in your state, it might be better to buy it from a merchant in your state, so that you can pay the dadgum tax when you are buying, as opposed to facing the hassle next year when you do your tax returns...

yea she will be just fine she didn't swollow anything just made the big parts into lots of little parts,

it's really hard to stay mad at a pet that says "I love you" every night when you put her to bed

I think Yucca Patrol has a great idea, cam't hurt to contact Garmin with a funnystory like this one. Especially with an opening line like my 15 year old daughter ate my GPS. This is a funny version of the dog ate my homework scenario. You never know the marketing department might help you out.

Look at me, I see Garmins on the counter, two or three,

and I feel like stressing out at this bird, and I'm stifling a word just for Misty,

will she crap out a turd.

 (sing to the tune of "Misty")

Walk my way, but don't fall over that there "double AA"

as it rolls around on the tile, that squawking you hear

is just Misty calculating a mile.

 (now the chorus)

You can say that my Garmin is gone, but there's pieces

clear out to the lawn. Don't you notice the vision I see,

a new Garmin 60 C.

 (back to verse)

Oh my own, as I wander now so lost and so alone,

Never knowing my right foot from my left,

my hand from my glove, but there's Misty

who still says "I LOVE. (you)

I could do better, but why?

Outstanding rendition, Robes.

If your 'daughter' is a cuckatoo you may want to spend the money on a nerosurgeon or phsycologist or some other kind of 'special' doctor

I thought she was your 'daughter' ? What's this 'pet' you speak of?

He's the volunteer reviewer for Colorado/area. And it doesn't matter where you are - your caches are toast!

The out of warnanty repair price is $135. I think that would be the cheapest way to go. Contact Garmin and see about returning it for repair.

Garmin: Out-of-Warranty information

You never know, they might repair it for free after they hear your story. :P

I would like to see a picture of what it looks like now.

Great story. If you have to purchase a new GPS at full price, I would consider the 76C instead of the 60C. You get about twice the memory as the 60C. Many people find that it is easier to operate the 76C form factor rather than the 60C. I bought my 76C from a local dealer at $400 plus CALIF tax. If you are interested, I will give you his name/number.
