+Thot
I don't know about the best place, but I bought my Magellan SporTrack Pro at this place. Their price was reasonable and I was satisfied with the transaction. http://www.digitalfotoclub.com/sc/product-...sp?id=964590965 Quote Link to comment
+as77
Since there is "use tax" aka "internet sales tax" in your state, it might be better to buy it from a merchant in your state, so that you can pay the dadgum tax when you are buying, as opposed to facing the hassle next year when you do your tax returns... +YuccaPatrol
I'd contact Garmin and see if they will repair/replace it. Maybe if you tell them your story and email some pictures, they will be amused enough to replace it. Quote Link to comment
+Kfam
I've been very happy with my purchase from comp-u-plus. The shipping was fairly priced and fast. Quote Link to comment
magellan315
I think Yucca Patrol has a great idea, cam't hurt to contact Garmin with a funnystory like this one. Especially with an opening line like my 15 year old daughter ate my GPS. This is a funny version of the dog ate my homework scenario. You never know the marketing department might help you out. +Robespierre
Look at me, I see Garmins on the counter, two or three, and I feel like stressing out at this bird, and I'm stifling a word just for Misty, will she crap out a turd. (sing to the tune of "Misty") Walk my way, but don't fall over that there "double AA" as it rolls around on the tile, that squawking you hear is just Misty calculating a mile. (now the chorus) You can say that my Garmin is gone, but there's pieces clear out to the lawn. Don't you notice the vision I see, a new Garmin 60 C. (back to verse) Oh my own, as I wander now so lost and so alone, Never knowing my right foot from my left, my hand from my glove, but there's Misty who still says "I LOVE. (you) I could do better, but why? Quote Link to comment

+we3dements
The out of warnanty repair price is $135. I think that would be the cheapest way to go. Contact Garmin and see about returning it for repair. Garmin: Out-of-Warranty information You never know, they might repair it for free after they hear your story. I would like to see a picture of what it looks like now. Anthony Edited August 26, 2004 by we3dements Quote Link to comment

+dzdiver
Great story. If you have to purchase a new GPS at full price, I would consider the 76C instead of the 60C. You get about twice the memory as the 60C. Many people find that it is easier to operate the 76C form factor rather than the 60C. I bought my 76C from a local dealer at $400 plus CALIF tax. If you are interested, I will give you his name/number. Quote Link to comment
