+Muzikman Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Last year I went back to the woods I use to play in when I was kid. While walking along an old mining road I tripped over something, looking back, this is what i saw. What do you think? Look like a BM? here are a few more pics of it. http://pittsburgh-music.com/jbeam/Monroevi...es/IMG_0589.jpg http://pittsburgh-music.com/jbeam/Monroevi...es/IMG_0590.jpg http://pittsburgh-music.com/jbeam/Monroevi...es/IMG_0592.jpg http://pittsburgh-music.com/jbeam/Monroevi...es/IMG_0593.jpg Quote
+GEO*Trailblazer 1 Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Yes it could have been a BM that is either the stem,or a copper rod, used in some of the earliest survey's. Do you have coordinates for it? Or more information to where it is? Quote
+Muzikman Posted August 21, 2004 Author Posted August 21, 2004 (edited) Well, I had the cords, but would have to look through a bunch of way points to find it. It's not far from me so once the rain stops I will run back out and grab new cords. It is in the town of Monroeville, PA between Pitcairn Road and Stroscheine Road. +embra Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 I was not able to identify any candidates in the described vicinity. But KX2056 is not far away, and there are some nice comparative photos of marble posts. Quote
