Minneapolis/duluth Caches W/kids?

Hi,

We're from the Philadelphia area and we're going to be visiting Minnesota this weekend, flying into Minneapolis and staying in Duluth. Can anyone suggest a few good caches with terrain/distances easy enough for us to do with our kids (2 and 6) and maybe even some muggle cousins? It would be cool if someone could suggest a caching stop along our drive on I-35. It's great to be able to get the kids out of the car and running to burn some energy - they actually really enjoy "treasure hunts". Also, any suggestions for kid-friendly caches near Duluth/Superior, WI would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks so much!!!

Here's some of mine in Duluth that may interest you:

Starry Night (it can be quite tricky if you take the wrong direction in - mail me and I'll give you a "super-secret kid-friendly" route)

Cascade Gardens

And I have no idea if this link will work or not, but I created a query of Duluth caches that are equal to or less than 2/2:

Easy Duluth Caches

The only two highway rest-stop caches I know of are:

Thompson Hill TB Hotel (on highway 35 just before Duluth)

Forest Lake Rest Area (on highway 35 Southbound in between Minneapolis & Duluth)

Hope you have fun! :)

Goose Creek Rest Area

Millies Mile Marker

Prairie Trail just a few miles to the east of Hwy 35N

Kettle River Rest Area

Watch out for snakes Is off the highway, but not far.

Good things come in 3's

Birthday Boy cache

Use any of those, and "search for nearby caches"

you should be able to get a good day of caching in!

I'm impressed. Many of the quality caches in the area belong to IBCrashen. He named 26BE which is one of his, otherwise all of the others that he named belong to others (except 89E9L - not sure what that one is all about).

What a guy!

IBCrashen has other good quality caches in the area as well besides Enger Tower... Check some of his others out too.
