Team Retty
Hi, We're from the Philadelphia area and we're going to be visiting Minnesota this weekend, flying into Minneapolis and staying in Duluth. Can anyone suggest a few good caches with terrain/distances easy enough for us to do with our kids (2 and 6) and maybe even some muggle cousins? It would be cool if someone could suggest a caching stop along our drive on I-35. It's great to be able to get the kids out of the car and running to burn some energy - they actually really enjoy "treasure hunts". Also, any suggestions for kid-friendly caches near Duluth/Superior, WI would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much!!! Team Retty Quote Link to comment
+SnowLeopard
Here's some of mine in Duluth that may interest you: Starry Night (it can be quite tricky if you take the wrong direction in - mail me and I'll give you a "super-secret kid-friendly" route) Cascade Gardens And I have no idea if this link will work or not, but I created a query of Duluth caches that are equal to or less than 2/2: Easy Duluth Caches The only two highway rest-stop caches I know of are: Thompson Hill TB Hotel (on highway 35 just before Duluth) Forest Lake Rest Area (on highway 35 Southbound in between Minneapolis & Duluth) Hope you have fun! Pto
Greetings! The zip code of central downtown Mpls area is 55455. There area several virtuals in/near downtown- and all are pretty quick/easy. Check my profile, All the MN caches Ive found are fairly quick and easy. Rest stop caches I could think of/find: (Mentioned above) Forest Lake Rest area This is in the Southbound rest area- for the way home? Goose Creek Rest Area Millies Mile Marker Prairie Trail just a few miles to the east of Hwy 35N Kettle River Rest Area Watch out for snakes Is off the highway, but not far. There are 3 at this rest stop Good things come in 3's Birthday Boy cache listGeneral C Rest are Use any of those, and "search for nearby caches" you should be able to get a good day of caching in! +Pear Head
JW59, 89E9L, GMGH, G3Z9, J7W4, B3F8, J8MX, K4FX, JZ6Y, 26BE I'm impressed. Many of the quality caches in the area belong to IBCrashen. He named 26BE which is one of his, otherwise all of the others that he named belong to others (except 89E9L - not sure what that one is all about). What a guy! IBCrashen has other good quality caches in the area as well besides Enger Tower... Check some of his others out too. - Pear Head Quote Link to comment
+IBcrashen
oops, that 89e8. others came to mind. JVE7, H3NM, K4MX, K8R2, J76T. While many have taken young ones with on other of my caches I just thought these would be good to do with a 2 and 5 year old along. Quote Link to comment
+Pear Head
others came to mind. JVE7, H3NM, K4MX, K8R2, J76T. I think K4MX may be more of a drive then they were thinking... I'm still in shock that you and GonSolo picked up K8R2 that morning. Does this mean a new step up in the FTF world? Quote Link to comment
+IBcrashen
We just happened to have it off. She seen it and really twisted my arm to get me to go right away. LOL She likes FTF more than I do. I did take her out to breakfest first and then made her cut my hair so we could have been there even earlier if it wasnt for me. Quote Link to comment
