TheWiz Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 Just wondering, cause since new, my 60cs shows two Londons, two Paris...ect Quote
coolclay Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Sorry can't help you. I never came across that with any of my Garmins. Quote
+Fenix6372 Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Well, I'm not totally sure if I know what you mean when you say there are two points with the same name, but I think I sort of know what you are talking about. As far as two places with the same name but different points, I know there is a Paris, France as well as a Paris, Texas. So maybe the GPS is picking up multiple cities and you just didn't know the tiny ones existed? Quote
+Renegade Knight Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 The only thing I know for sure is that Paris Idaho has less French in it than the real deal. Quote
+NightPilot Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 And there's Athens, TX, and Wellington, TX, and Moscow, ID, and.......... The list goes on forever. Quote
+hbrx Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 So maybe the GPS is picking up multiple cities and you just didn't know the tiny ones existed? Or the older one?? hbrx 32 V Quote
+GOT GPS? Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 About a month ago I did an Autoroute to Kirtland Ohio, and found 2 Kirtlands near each other, in the list and on the Map. One is City Select and the other is on the Basemap, what I think is that there is a problem with the mapping or firmware. Quote
TheWiz Posted August 16, 2004 Author Posted August 16, 2004 What I meant was copies of the same city....that is, two dots for the same city, with same spelling on each dot, in the same region of the same populous but mapped in close proximity where only one place should be showing but in this case mapped on average 5 to 25 miles apart on this base map only loaded unit. I'm afraid that is as clear as I will be able to get with my description of this anomaly in my 60cs. Quote
