geomapper Posted May 23, 2002 Posted May 23, 2002 Take it outside where it has a clear view of the sky. Turn it on and let it set for 15 or 20 minutes while it acquires sat. data. Also, read the directions. I'm sure it explains all this in much more detail. Quote
rdw Posted May 23, 2002 Posted May 23, 2002 Take it outside. The GPS needs a clear view of the sky to receive the satellite signals. The first time you start it up it will take a while before it is ready, 5 minutes or more. When it is ready, it will say something like "Ready To Navigate." If you tell us what kind of GPS you are using, we can give you more specific instructions. rdw Quote

Lazyboy & Mitey Mite Posted May 23, 2002 Posted May 23, 2002 You have to read the instructions. First of all it won't locate a cache until you program in the coordinates of a cache. The needle might be the compass, who knows, we don't know what gps you have. Never Squat With Yer Spurs On Quote

RAD Dad Posted May 23, 2002 Posted May 23, 2002 Your GPSr needs to get to know you better I suggest you get it as close to your brain as possible and then think hard about it, for this task you will probably need some vaseline, and you will need to drop your pants. Guys this Ozkar is a troll. If you read his other posts it is clear he is not serious here, and is just looking to stir things up. Read his thread about red meat, also read his profile. ummmm....not sure what to say here....so ummm, well errrr, uhhhh, well I guess that's it. +urbo Posted May 24, 2002 Posted May 24, 2002 your gps unit has gotten stuck in anti-flatulence mode. it will continously point upwind until you reset it. best way to reset it is leave the batteries out for 72 hours. urbo Quote

culpc Posted May 26, 2002 Posted May 26, 2002 I find that large doses of pickled eggs and beer are more effective for turning the anti-flatulence mode off... Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son! Quote
