+sept1c_tank
When you post a new topic, or perhaps even a reply to one, do you consider the ramifications? Do you troll? Or are you a Newbie (I hate that word)? Maybe you have a simple question? Or you're bored? Do you like to make waves? Do you enjoy controversy in the forums? Do you attempt to write your opinions so as to offend no one? Are you a fence-sitter? Are you sometimes surprised @ the responses to your words? Here is an alert system stolen from a proliferic poster's (bons) profile page. How do your typical posts rate? This is not a poll. Quote Link to comment

Or you're bored? I'm bored Do you like to make waves? yes. Do you enjoy controversy in the forums? yes. Do you attempt to write your opinions so as to offend no one? I offend as many people as I can because nobobdy likes me Are you a fence-sitter? No, I am a superhero named Radman! Are you sometimes surprised @ the responses to your words? yes. +Snoogans
How do your typical posts rate? Wow! A thread about threads and now I'm responding about responding. I just post whatever is on my mind. I don't really care much how I rate. I try to be diplomatic as possible, but sometimes I don't care. The PC movement sickens me. I'm sure I rub some people the wrong way. So what.... I almost NEVER read an entire thread before responding. I post when I'm compelled to post and nothing more....... Quote Link to comment

+sept1c_tank
This all about the geocaching community and how it interacts through a geocaching tool Exactly. Thanks, MRCOGEO. The forums are a versatile tool. My quest is to discover how well we use it and to what means. BTW, we are now securely in HIGH, with the participation of two moderators. Quote Link to comment
+sept1c_tank
According to CO Admin (in another current thread): ...Operation and proper use of the forums is an essential part of Geocaching. The Forums are one of the contact methods in Geocaching Well said, my friend! Quote Link to comment
+MrCOgeo
The forums are a two-dimensional commucating means (sight and touch) and as such are hard to convey the emotional intent along with the messages. I am amazed at some of the emotional flames/rants that occur for a game and for something so fun and internal as geocaching. There is so much good information in the forums, updated by the geocaching community and moderated very well to keep things on topic and clean of spam. I take a serious thing as a joke and a joke as a serious thing, blame it on my Irish Ancestors and my CO laid back sarcastic humor. CO Admin...glad I could be of help on this one at least. Occasionally, I find that I have actually been SEVERE! BTW, mtn-man, I'll send you the $20 when you send me those negatives! And post on topic to my thread... Actually, I was on topic. I was trying to illustrate how to stir up a little controversy. Innocent enough and in a fun way at least, but my post was still controvercial to a degree. There are lots of interesting questions in these forums. The trolling is a bit sad at times though. It happens though since this is the internet. I like CO Admin too much so just having the two of us in the topic isn't too big of a deal. If you want this topic to go to level "RUN" then I could put Keystone on moderation for a few days...
