Just trying to see my cache page and the server's timing out. Getting slammed or something else wrong? Figured I'd bring it to your attn:

Same here, only sometimes I get a generic Safari dialog box for a timeout. When a page other than my cache page does load, it is just painfully slow.

Me too. It's seems to be slowing down again. I've had trouble and slow response off and on for the last 2-3 weeks, not always on weekends either.

If y'all want to check out your local caches the way round the timeout problem is to go to the hide & seek a cache page and input your home co-ords. :smile:

It's a slow as trying to swim through treacle but gets there eventually

me too -

took me 2 hours to get to my own page but with some effort got to some specific cache pages - site is VERY slow -

hope it is just your spiders - but they sure are annoying - probably mor so for you.

It's affecting us all. Not as big a problem in the middle of the night, but as soon as the rest of the US wakes up it returns (I'm on the east coast). I'm just glad I don't have a dial-up connection!

As if you didn't know, I thought I'd chime in...

I'm getting the same thing - I can't load my cache page at all. I get repetitive

I'd pay at least DOUBLE - maybe more to be a ' Premium Premium Member ' with some sort of PRIORITY ACCESS - GUARANTEED. I usually know better than to try to access GC on the weekends but happen to really need to check a couple things before I leave home in a couple hours. Oh Well! Seems hopeless! Maybe it is always like this but it has been REALLY bad the last week or so EVEN during the week.

I really enjoy Geocaching and all the GREAT work done by the staff. So not to be TOTALLY negative, does anyone have recommendations on how to best use the system to TRY to help eliminate these bottlenecks.

I know I consume bandwith and computing power(just adding to problems) by downloading ALL caches in my state(and a nearby one) a couple times a week. If there was a querie to just download any cache that had new logs in my state or caches that status has changed since last identical querie(live to temp. disabled or archived or whatever), I'd happily utilize that method. Any suggestions for streamlining queries will be greatly appreciated.

The situation has definitely improved in the last hour (midnight to 1 a.m. EST).

Obviously, heavy server hits on a Saturday night, though I'm sure if there's more to it Jeremy and Co. will resolve it.

Didn't we get these kinds of errors right before we upgraded our server last time? Maybe we get all sorts of new unknown about features in a few weeks.

Ditto - I can view, search for caches etc, but cannot login. I get a timeout message after trying to login to viewe 'my' page. :angry:

Same here - can do lots of things on the site but can't log in and get to My Cache page. Gives a timeout message.
