+Captain Morgan
Hi! It seems that someone has added Svalbard and Jan Mayen to the list of countries in geocaching.com So far there is two approved caches. Regards, Olli Quote Link to comment
Mesu
Could someone teach the Americans what a country means, so that gc.com would not register every island as a country. More people traveling to Aland Islands would notice that there are caches if they had been listed among other caches in Finland. Quote Link to comment
+Captain Morgan
Well, ask from the people of Åland Islands, that should their autonomous area be listed under Finland or not... I guess you know the answer... Quote Link to comment
+Divine
The present state of things has probably nothing to do with the geographical knowledge of Americans or even GC.com staff. Obviously they've chosen to list countries, territories and other specific areas in GC.com cache listings, so the only misleading thing is the usage of the word country here. That could be easily fixed by wording. The other option would hang strictly on to the notion of country (and then you could go ask the Chinese geocachers what they think about having Taiwan listed as a separate country ). However, I still think Mesu has a point here. It would probably be benefit even for the Åland geocaching scene to be listed among Finnish caches. While we're at it, how about fixing that isles thing, Tahu? Quote Link to comment
