+JMBella
As most of you know the Channel 11 news came out to the LI event a couple of weeks ago. I just heard from the producer and she said they are planning to air the spot Sunday Aug. 8th. If something changes I'll let you know. I hope I don't look fat on TV. Quote Link to comment

+art begotti
wow, that's kinda cool... we had an article run in the local paper a couple weeks ago about caching. to be honest, the article didnt do us cachers justice. but hey... at least they spelled most of the words in it right! but whats also kinda weird... i get the wb11, which is based in nyc... and i live right close to lake erie, an eight hour drive from nyc... how does that happen? Quote Link to comment
+Team Shibby
Well I just went through the program guide and considering they only play the news at 10 O'clock, I set it to record that one artbegotti...Any chance you are a satellite subscriber? If so, that may be the reason. Kar Quote Link to comment
+art begotti
no... it might have something to do with the fact that it might be the closest wb station to where i live... like the cable company has to have the "big four" stations or something... whatever they call cbs, abc, nbc, and the wb collectively... if that's even the four in that group... Quote Link to comment
+JMBella
It will air during the 10 O'clock news. Probably at the end but tape the whole thing just in case. Quote Link to comment
+Czarniecki314
The first morning I woke up in Bennington I put the tv on to see what was going on in the world and somehow heard SUBWAY PROBLEMS for NYC. We also had NYC WB for the longest time. Of course not anymore, which means I don't get to watch it tonight! Grrrrrrr.... Quote Link to comment

+JMBella
Well the news is on and I'm actually really nervous!! Did I sound like an idiot? Did I say anything stupid? Did I accurately represent geocaching? Did I lose the Long Island accent? Time will tell. Quote Link to comment

+Team DEMP
The FTF prize is an autographed photo of Lolita Lopez. I need to get a couple more now. You and SF are famous. Have someone take a pic of you two together and signed. That would be a nice FTF prize Quote Link to comment
+M&M Melted
The kiddies just watched it on videotape as they were sound asleep when it aired last night. Quite a thrill for them to see themselves! Our thanks to WB-11! Quote Link to comment
+Czarniecki314
I listened to the segment over the phone -- Thanks, Squealy! Sounded AWESOME and of course I was excited to hear VERMONT mentioned... 12:50, a.m.?? Oh, boy. Great job, Joe, can't wait to see the tape. Quote Link to comment
avroair
The FTF prize is an autographed photo of Lolita Lopez That's worth the drive alone! (hope she doesn't read the forums!) Great piece, they were able to simplify geocaching down to a couple of statements! Log on, type in your zip code... get out your GPS and start hunting...!!! Nah, none of you looked like Geeks! No really you didn't. Quote Link to comment
mortonfox
you were on it Po. 3000 this year? How about 3000 this month? Today probably right? I'll need 73 dash-and-grab caches all near each other to do it today. Maybe I should go to Nashville. Quote Link to comment
+art begotti
saw the clips, it was great. i heard the word "bury" in there... but beyond that, it did a good job explaining geocaching to the muggles of the world. so... who's up for an sixteen hour (round trip) geocaching roadtrip? Quote Link to comment
+Team DEMP
Joe: When do you think the clip will be on the LI site? I didn't tape it and I want to show my kids. David Quote Link to comment

+JMBella
Nice piece. Hey, are we allowed to choke the person who said caches are buried? Just to defend Shamu a bit. She's a very nice person and has been caching for a while. I'm sure she was just nervous talking to the camera. I should have made a list of words and phrases for them to watchout for when editing the piece. And no, you can't strangle me. Quote Link to comment
+IV_Warrior
Very nice piece, I especially like that they left me out I was getting nervous, I saw the camera pointed at me a couple times. I do wish they'd have included a blurb about travel bugs, and of course, some footage of Cindy, though. Quote Link to comment
+Squealy
Nice piece. I assume you are talking about the news clip and not what is under GWho's quasi-kilt, correct? Quote Link to comment
