+Stunod
I started with a palm add-on, but quickly decided that a handheld GPS would hold up better. You don't want to drop that nice m515 on the rocks or in the water, do you? ______________________ Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand. - Homer Simpson ChiTown Cachers * Keenpeople.com Stats Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
I have dropped, or had my GPS dropped on many an occasion. In addition I finally managed to leave it on my bumper and have it fall off in traffic. A GPS is fairly rugged for this kind of abuse. A PDA isn't up to the job. Quote Link to comment
miketree
I was out last weekend. It Rained Boy, did it rain! My mobile phone is now dead But my Garmin GPS is waterproof Quote Link to comment
+Brown Dwarf
The idea looked good in theory to me -- but I found it hard to manage waypoints. Mapping software was also an issue. One way to go: use the Palm to store a gazillion nearby cache descriptions -- and use a standard GPS to handle the actual cache finding. Quote Link to comment
