E-Trex Cords.

I am planning on getting the little yellow e-trex this week. Well I am going to have to get it on the way.

icon_confused.gif Therefore I was wondering if I can just write down the WGS-84 format?

I sure hope so because the NAD27 / UTM conversion charts are rather confusing.

==PLEASE get back to this ASAP==

Thanks!

She shouldn't have to make any changes. I never have with any of the eTrex units I've owned.

Goldie - if you don't have access to a data cable, check the prices on eBay and other lists.

I've seen them for as low as $15, it's something worth having if you're going to find many caches.

(Plus it allows you to do cool things with the tracklogs)

It's not manditory so don't feel pressured.

On my Vista I do the following --

Go to "Main menu"

Select "mark"

use joystick button to go up to "location"

press joystick button

enter coordinates

change waypoint name if you choose to in the same manner.

I would love to see a thread or a link with some other hints and tricks for the various GPS units out there.

Not sure if you got your GPSr new or used, but my eTrex noted both methods of entering coordinates in the manual.

The "GPS units and Software" message board is a good place to check out also.
