Want A Benchmark?

While passing through Pomotory, Utah where the railroads first joined Atlantic with the Pacific, I purchased a replica of the benchmark that will be replaced at the site. The original had been pretty well shot up, removed by the National Park Service and was stored in a safe. I tried to get permission to photo the original but the person with the final authority was not there that day.

I've seen that site. Nice stuff. My buddy and I are planning to do Whitney later this year. We're going to pick up the replica mark, and have it framed along with the photo of us at the summit.
